Members joining the Autobiography Group are often concerned about their writing skills. They feel that their lives have been dull and lacking in interest to other people. This could not be further from the truth. All life experiences are of great interest to others. To quote the Group Leader "there is such bonhomie within the group that we have glorious and often hilarious meetings." There is no pressure but much encouragement to talk or write about events members have lived through which have been pleasing, interesting or full of dismay. With the growth in confidence, freedom of thought expands, memories are stirred and there can be a reliving of the enjoyable parts of life. Autobiography leaves a history and understanding for children, grandchildren and historians of this period. Our lives and memories cover an important historical period.
