Members joining the Autobiography Group might be concerned about their writing skills or feel that their lives are lacking in interest for other people. This could not be further from the truth! To quote the group leader: ‘There is such bonhomie within the group that we have glorious and often hilarious meetings’. There is no pressure but much encouragement for members to write about events they have lived through that were pleasing, interesting or full of dismay. With growth in confidence freedom of thought expands, memories are stirred and there can be a reliving of enjoyable parts of life. Autobiography also leaves a history and understanding for children, grandchildren and historians of this period.
New members are welcomed.
