This short course assumes no prior knowledge other than the ability to send simple text e-mails. It is practically based using the leader's Wi-Fi network, which is supplemented by some members of the group bringing their laptops.

Topics to be covered include the following, but there is scope for including other topics if there is sufficient interest.

• Internet Security
• E-mailing, including attachments and pictures
• Searching for Information and Study via the Internet
• Internet Commerce, Holidays, Banking and Insurance
• Instant Messaging and Video Phoning using Skype
• Facebook and other Social Networks

This Option will run in the Summer Term.
