This course is for beginners, or those who wish to improve their skills. We examine the facilities now included in many digital cameras through practical activities and use the instant replay facilities to show the resulting images to the group, using television or computer. We will be using some free computer software to improve and manipulate digital images, including looking at the popular topic of restoring old photos.

The group has access to a small Wi-Fi network, to which some members add their own laptop. If you don't have access to a computer at home, there is scope for supervised computer practicals in class. It will also be possible to look at more advanced features of the camera, such as shooting movie clips and producing panoramic views. We can also email images, include them in web pages, or make CDs and slide show presentations, according to the interests of the group.
