Brighton & Hove University of the Third Age
This group meets monthly to provide a forum for any social activity which its members suggest, using public transport.
We have trips to the theatre, including local and sometimes amateur theatre, also we have days out in London, including matinées with discounted tickets, going up by train. We aim to have a day out a week during the summer break.
Ten pin bowling at the Marina Bowlplex, short walks followed by a pub lunch or a cream tea, trips to gardens such as Leonardslee, or bus rides (now free!) to local places such as Rottingdean, Eastbourne or Shoreham, meals out on a summer evening, are also typical of what we do, but members are free to suggest anything they want, and, hopefully, gain at least one companion to share their interest.
Some of our members are regular attenders at the Odeon's Senior Screen on Thursday mornings - excellent value, including tea or coffee and biscuits (the films are quite good, too!).
