Brighton & Hove University of the Third Age
Two groups are available to cater for differing fitness levels.
Walks are usually once a month and are up to about five miles. They are usually country walks and the terrain may vary. Some paths may be muddy - walking boots or shoes are essential. Walks are planned around public transport, and may be linear or circular. Walks usually end near a pub for a drink or lunch. Planning meetings are held twice a year and a list of planned walks is issued to members of the group. We hope that the walks will be led by different group members.
These walks are usually 5 - 7 miles in length, taken at a reasonable pace. Each walk is chosen and led by a member of the group and terrain may vary. We do not rely on public transport, to enable us to get to more out of the way places, but lifts can be arranged. Walks usually end near a pub, for those wishing to enjoy a drink or some lunch.
